Life in the Creative Lane - Adventures of a Curator
SAUL’S RESTAURANT
Some people go to places like the Pyramids of Egypt for inspiration; my favorite source of inspiration is Saul’s Restaurant one of the treasures of Brooklyn. Saul’s Restaurant is where I go for creative stimulation, exquisite food, great ambiance, and an exceptional, world-class dining experience. Saul is located in Brooklyn’s great temple of art, the Brooklyn Museum.
Your adventure begins as you walk through the glass doors of the magnificent monument that house one of the world’s best art collections. Through the lobby you enter the glass gates of inspiration that is Saul’s. It is a magical experience from there on, complimented by distinctive décor, art, great music and exceptional service by Rob, the manager and staff.
A long time resident and a creative person I come armed with my ipad or computer and sit at the counter bar to channel, create, and work on my vision. Concepts flow, I guess subconsciously fueled by the great art and artists in the museums exhibitions and collections. It is a great formula for stimulating the creative process. Art is my passion and so is Saul’s!
My favorite dishes are: for brunch, the sensual Curried Prawns with sunny-side egg, eggplant, coconut rice and if there is room for desert Almond-Raspberry Croissant, Almond frangipane, raspberry jam. The wine selection is first class; I particularly favor the Malebec and a new label called Sagana. For dinner I prefer the savory seafood dishes such as sea bass, and snapper. I enjoyed a sumptuous Monkfish dish recently that was heavenly.
Enjoy!
